Arugula is happy with snow.
Lots of my seeds have sprouted. The arugula on my balcony has germinated, and held through last night’s freeze and snow. It’s a bit of a microclimate too over here which may have helped.
It’s a great time to experiment. If you start some greens outside and they don’t make it, try a few more seeds again a couple weeks later. You can learn a lot about the length of our growing season.
I’ll let you know soon a new place to grab some organic seeds in Downtown Toronto. I can’t wait to get all our Building Roots projects started this spring and begin planting a lot more.
Similarly I’m growing this site, to offer more updates, stories and resources.
Check back soon as everything comes to fruition!
